Alan and Onui are Married — Guelph Wedding Photography

May 7th, 2011

If I said it once, I’ve said it…well at least 3 times!  These guys are a total blasty blast.  We met at a flopped wedding show over a year ago and chatted weddings and all its interesting trimmings.  By the last day of April, 2011, they were married! I always make a strong point to [...]

If I said it once, I’ve said it…well at least 3 times!  These guys are a total blasty blast.  We met at a flopped wedding show over a year ago and chatted weddings and all its interesting trimmings.  By the last day of April, 2011, they were married!

I always make a strong point to chat with the officiant before a ceremony to ensure I don’t interrupt, intrude or otherwise mar this unique moment while maintaining my focus on capturing beautiful images.  Chatting this over with Fr. Kevin was enlightening and totally interesting.  Obviously a photography enthusiast, we chatted over lenses and aperture and signal-to-noise ratio, which is normally reserved for a much more technically-bent population but he was right on board.  His instructions were straightforward and easily followed but showed me how some photographers have much less respect for the sanctity of the ceremony.

With the ‘official’ part of the day checked off, it was time to venture out for some fun and funky wedding party photography.  We parked on Douglas Street and went for a walk.  We found some great spots; Guelph is a mecca of limestone architecture and interesting, well-lit nooks and crannies.  On one of our locations, two interesting ‘firsts’ took place.  The first was political, sort of… In their final campaign hours, the Radical Marijuana Party was really forging for votes and handed a markered balloon promoting their cause.  The 2nd was the best kind of random act of kindness.  A complete stranger handed the new couple a $5 bill and congratulated them.  I have never seen this before and thought it was pretty awesome.  I recommended we do some laps to see what else we could score.

The reception at Delta Guelph was a blast.  The service staff was accommodating, the meal was superb and yes, Alan’s tie ended up around his head.  Something Blue Wedding DJ Services kept the party kicking all night and late night pizza kept people fueled for more dancing!

A special thanks to Debra Eby Photography for 2nd shooting with us. Your vision, passion and energy were all appreciated equally!

Enjoy the photos, and thanks so much to Alan and Onui for hiring us!

Alison and Philipe are Married — Toronto Wedding Photography in the Distillery District

April 29th, 2011

April brought with it a lot of rain, the odd day kept us all looking forward to what we were all sure would be another warmer day.  April also brought with it some beautiful weddings for me.

Alison and Philipe’s was one of the first in over a year for which I didn’t have a chance to meet with ahead of time, but being cousins, Phil and I kept in touch well enough.  Their day was one of those typical rainy Saturdays but spirits were high and no amount of the wet stuff would dampen their spirits.  I remember telling one of the bilingual family members “il faut faire ton propre soleil aujourd’hui!” or you have to make your own sun today, in English, and they did.

The ceremony was really touching and inviting and took place at Runnymede United Church.  Afterwards, we all hopped in the limo together and skipped down to the Distillery District for their reception at Archeo Restaurant.  By this time the skies parted and gave way to an awesome evening walk around the District.

The Emcee introduced the couple by reminiscing over Hollywood’s “Tomkat” and “Bradjolina” and collectively ushered the bride and groom to speak as “Alphi”.  Congratulations Alison and Philipe!

Here are some of my favourite images of the day. You can also view their entire day through the online gallery if you’re lucky enough to know Alison’s maiden name.

Kim and George are Married! – Guelph Wedding Photography

April 10th, 2011

A couple weeks ago we had a great time photographing Kim and George’s wedding.  You can check out their engagement session here!  Kim looked great and George was “GQ” to the max.  Kim’s hair and make up looked beautiful with the work of the fine people at Evolution Hair and Spa. You can never know [...]

You can never know what kind of weather March will bring with it and the indecisive skies and cold weather kept us indoors.  Thank goodness the Delta Guelph is well enough appointed to accommodate plenty of great opportunities.

Cobblestone Creations handled the decorations with ease and Sweet Violets put on the finishing touches with sweet centrepieces and exquisite bouquets for the bridal party.

Flashpoint Productions got the party started and kept it rolling all night with awesome music, videos and a photobooth to boot!

Thank you for choosing EastView Photography!

What better way to spend some of Labour Day weekend but in the Historic Distillery District In Toronto photographing a friends wedding!  I met the guys nice and early and we caught some swanky shots.  Leslie and the girls arrived just in time for the ceremony in the Cannery Room, which is a perfect intimate venue.  We made an attempt at venturing outdoors but the weather wanted nothing to do with it!  Leslie, Alex and I did manage to sneak out later for a few shots.

The reception was in the Boiler House and it’s all so visually stunning.  The dinner was outstanding; served buffet-style but don’t kid yourself…there was a poutine bar, it was awesome!  There was live music humming in the background and the crowd was just great to be around.

Enjoy our favourites from Leslie and Alex’s day!

A beautiful Friday afternoon in August… That’s when we photographed Heidi and Dave’s wedding in Kitchener.  They decided to reveal prior to the ceremony giving us lots of daylight to work with.  We met at Victoria Park in the afternoon sun and had lots of time to capture all the scenery the park has to offer.

The ceremony took place at the Kitchener City Hall and then we were off to Bingeman’s Conference Centre for their reception.  Joey, Heidi’s son, gave an eloquent speech welcoming Dave into the family.  It was one of the most touching moments I’ve seen!

Enjoy this sneak peek of their fantastic day!

Crystal and Brian’s wedding…what a great day!  We got a great jump on a full day of photography at Angels and Cowboys Salon in Uptown Waterloo.  This crew of talented stylists did an awesome job getting all the ladies looking their best!  Kerry, my assistant for the day, spent the morning with the guys capturing [...]

The ceremony was beautiful and the bridal party made it in the nick of time, there’s no rushing a bride on her wedding day!  We walked around Rockway Gardens and then ventured off to Southworks in Cambridge for some funky formals in the courtyard.  The reception was a total blast and there were lots of people ready to party, so we stayed late to make sure to not miss a thing.

Enjoy some of our favourites!

Laura looked beautiful and Jon went for a pretty unique look with a kilt.  The wedding party was a lot of fun to work with and they were really eager to play with us during the group session. The Ceremony took place at Parkminster United Church in Waterloo and the entire staff was just so accommodating.   We spent some time at Manulife, which has pretty spectacular grounds for group shots and this was all followed by a super fun reception at the Conestoga Country Club.

Here are some of our favourite images…enjoy!
